Composite Recital 2019

Our Composite Recital was held on Saturday 16th February 2019 (3.00pm) at the Penge Congregational Church, kindly hosted by Marilyn Nicholson.

The church has a fabulous three manual organ 35-stop 3m/ped organ made by Lewis in 1915 and extensively restored in 1984 by the organ builder Brian Bunting, who worked in close consultation with Robert Cooper the then organist.

Organ details are on this link: www.npor.org.uk/NPORView.html?RI=P00484

Richard Pilliner introduced the thirteen organist who played a varied and interesting program. (Click the program (or the photo) to enlarge).

The first five performers were young students of Marilyn Harper and John Webber. They all played exceptionally well and were a credit to their teachers.

A particular highlight was two wonderful pieces composed by our member, Peter Smith, one of which was played by the composer. The second was given a masterful performance by Marilyn Harper to conclude the concert.

We are grateful to Marilyn Nicholson and the clergy and congregation of Penge Congregational church for once again being very welcoming hosts.
