You will hear and be able to play the 3-manual, 72-speaking-stop Compton organ in St George’s Cathedral<\/a>, hosted by Norman Harper, former Director of Music. Norman will play a short recital, including\u00a0some of Messiaen’s Nativit\u00e9 du Seigneur, which he used to play in its entirety each year until he retired in 2017. Members will then be free to play the instrument up until c4.00, possibly\u00a0beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

St George’s Cathedral is situated at the cross-roads between Lambeth Road and St George’s Road, opposite the Imperial War Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public transport is plentiful, and is strongly recommended. St George’s is within the London Congestion Zone, and on a weekday there is essentially no nearby parking. Many bus-routes serve the Elephant & Castle, St George’s Circus and Imperial War Museum. Trains and Bakerloo tube serve Elephant & Castle, Waterloo and Lambeth North; Elephant & Castle is also on the Northern Line.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
