Philip Norman and Philip Luke say that it is always a great pleasure to see members from so many Associations at this annual event under the patronage of Dame Gillian Weir. Do see the website. All the afternoon events are free up until the evening celebrity recital but this time we are also offering the option of card payments for this, the buffet and for online donations, registration being available from 15th November.

The theme this time is Trocadero and Town Halls and will feature two of the outstanding performers of organ music in this genre – Simon Gledhill and Richard Hills. The afternoon will include a masterclass by Dame Gillian Weir on English romantic organ music, a recital by Marco Sever, and presentations by Philip Norman and Simon Williams of the RCO. Further information here. We look forward to welcoming as many people as possible at this event and do please contact either Philip Norman or Philip Luke for any further information at all.

From Hilary Reeve: I am pleased to inform you that, after a year’s break because of Covid restrictions, the Organ Section of the 2022 Godalming Performing Arts Festival will be held on Monday 7 March 2022 in Godalming Parish Church. Full details of the syllabus can be found on the website. We hope the changes will be well received and will review them again next year in the light of any comments we receive. Entries are now open, accessed from the website. We have a new booking system this year – Run My Festival. You will need to register with Run My Festival (unless you already use Run My Festival with another Festival). The account you may have had with GPAF two years’ ago is no longer to be used. The closing date for entries is Monday 17 January 2022. However, we would urge you to submit entries well in advance if possible, to Hilary Reeve (Secretary – Organ Section & IT Liaison, Godalming Performing Arts Festival) organ@godalmingperformingartsfestival.com

From Fr.
