AGM 2018

The Society AGM was hosted by Lionel Bourne, Director of Music at St John the Divine, Kennington, SE21 7AS at 7.30 on the 16th April.

The proceeding started with Lionel describing the interesting history of the church and the origins of the current organ.

Three pieces were played on the organ:  Julius Olu-Jones, a student of Lionel, played ‘Voluntary in F’ by Samuel Wesley and William Nicholson,  Assistant Organist, played ‘No.17 from Expressions for Organ’ by Naji Hakim and Prelude & Fugue in C Major BWV 547 by J S Bach.

At the break, refreshments were served.

The formal part of the evening started with the Chair, Andrew Chadney reviewing the year and saying how full and interesting it was. A copy of his report is available as a download at the end of this report.

The Hon Treasurer, Peter Ramell, gave the financial report saying that there was a small increase in numbers of members and a healthy bank balance. Peter’s full report  and the actual figures are available as a download at the bottom of the page.

 

 

Harry Bramma, our President, said a few warm words and concluded the formal proceedings.

The evening finished with the organ being available for members to play.
